Remove the Glitchgrab bot from a call

The Glitchgrab bot leaves a call on its own when the call ends. If you want it out sooner — the client asked, or the rest of the call is private — there are three ways. Whichever you use, what it recorded so far is kept and transcribed.

Option 1 — from inside Meet (Glitchgrab extension)

Needs the Glitchgrab Chrome extension, signed in to the project.

1. In the Meet call, find the Glitchgrab button — the round dot just to the right of the red hang-up button.
2. Hover it and press Remove bot from call.
3. Glitchgrab asks Remove the bot from this call? — The Glitchgrab bot leaves the call and stops recording. What it recorded so far is kept and transcribed.
4. Press Remove bot. The button shows Removing…, the dialog closes, and the pill shows Removing the bot from the call…. The bot usually leaves within ten seconds.

Changed your mind? Press Keep recording instead.

• Removing the bot from the call… — normal. It stays until the bot is gone; there is nothing to press.
• The bot didn't leave — try removing it again — it was still in the call a minute later. Repeat, or use option 2.
• Glitchgrab was updated — reload this tab to try again — the extension was reloaded or updated since you opened Meet, so this tab can no longer talk to it. Press Close, reload the Meet tab (the bot keeps recording meanwhile) and remove it again — or use option 2 without reloading.
• Could not reach Glitchgrab or Could not reach the bot service — the request did not get through. Press Try again, or use option 2.

Option 2 — from the Calls page

Works from any browser, even if you are not in the call.

1. Open Calls in the left sidebar.
2. Find the call. While the bot is joining, waiting to be admitted, or recording, it has a stop button.
3. Press stop. It shows stopping…, then Bot is leaving the call — the recording so far is kept.

• That recording is no longer running — the bot already left. The recording is not affected.
• Could not reach the bot service — try again in a moment, or use option 3.

Pressed stop in both places? That is fine — the second one finds the bot already gone and changes nothing.

Option 3 — Meet's own People list

The meeting host can remove the bot like any participant: open People in Meet, find the Glitchgrab bot and remove it from the call. The bot notices it is no longer in the call, stops, and uploads what it has.

What happens next

The call appears on Calls as usual. Its audio uploads (saving recording…), then transcription starts (transcribing…). Nothing is lost by removing it early — the transcript just ends where the recording did.

• For everything: turn auto-record off in the same panel.
